Ever since she can remember, Hanni Zel Zion has been absorbed in the world of design. As a mother of two and an eye for beautiful designs, she first embarked as a graphic designer in the quaint city of Kiryat-Ono, near Tel Aviv. During her 13 years in the graphic arts industry, Hanni was introduced to jewelry and began to learn the basics of jewelry design from a prominent and well respected jeweler. After falling in love with the craft, she then turned her attention to the UMANIT School of Art and Craft, where she graduated in 1997. It was during this time that Hanni took third place in the International Pearls contest in Japan.
It is through Hanni Zel Zion’s naturalistic and minimalistic sculptural designs that people can really get a feel for who she really is. The distinctive and rich textures resemble an influence of the earth’s elements, nature and especially the sea. Often using precious and semi-precious gemstones and diamonds within 18 Karat gold, Hani’s fluid jewelry designs can be described as colorful, rich and textured with a flair for clean lines and a minimalistic presence.
